Poetry Performances

Before every public performance, I am very nervous… but I think nervousness makes for a better performance?
I was so shy as a youngster.

2002
Cannon Poets - I did a 10 minute slot... we read our own poems to the group.
Birmingham ArtsFest - At the Midland Arts Centre, a group of us did light-hearted poems. 'In' bought the house down!
Hindu/Muslim/Christian evening Carols and our poems - I wrote 'I've Seen a Star' for this occasion.
Christmas Day - 70 people, lovely dinner plus met people I knew... a team of us did the entertaining... some sang carols and other items and I was the Poet.... I’d like to do that again !

2003
Mental Health Club - Two people walked out !! But everyone else enjoyed it.
Old Girls School Reunion - They looked very thoughtful at some and clapped at the end, then wanted a signed copy of
a poem I'd written specially for the occasion.
Bournville Fellowship 30th Sept - for between 50 and 70 people at Bournville Club. It went so well !
Christmas Day - About 70 people who would otherwise have been alone…lovely dinner plus met people I knew.

2004
Birmingham City Mission - I entertained a number of people at a Day Centre Luncheon Club, it went really well.

2005
Bournville Quaker Mtg Did a short performance at 100th Anniv weekend.
Trinity Church - I did a short performance at Creative Hearts Arts and Crafts Evening
Christmas Day - Did a Christmas Poem at the Northfield Christmas Day event again

2006
Valuable Fools’ Gig - Have been asked to do some poetry at a Gig sometime.
Podcasts - Have recorded 4 poems for a podcast website.
Produced a CD called 'Dawn' with some of my poetry and public domain music used with permission.
Stirchley Library - I went to a Coffee Morning for a talk on Art, sadly the speaker didn't turn up, so I offered to do a Poetry Performance and talk .. which I did for one hour, it went well.

2007
Open Mike, Rowheath Pavilion - I did two 5 minute slots

2008
Cadbury Club Ladies Fellowship - one hour on 10th June
